Wow. This is amazing. Two great tastes that taste phenomenal together. It's a shame I just found this now. The long start was making me think it might not be as good as I was hoping, but it didn't just get good, it got great. I love how both of your styles made such a good mesh in this.

Anchorwind responds:

Well thank you. (as of this writing) There are 8 posted Anchorgrinder projects currently, with more likely to be posted later. You may find others interesting as well. Regardless, thank you for taking the time to write a review.

Not bad. I have to say, I think that it's got a good sound, but the piano would be really good if it were somehow distorted, either with a filter, some sort of reverb/delay, and quieted just a little bit. It kind of sticks out as the most prominent sound in the song, and by the end of it, its own repetition makes the song feel more repetitious than it actually is. Know what I mean?
I'm curious as to what you use to make your tunes though. I like sound of the drums for sure.

Werewolfrx responds:

I Agree with you, the piano is really kind of ''bland'', I like to use filters on my drums to make them sound more flat. hey man thanks for listening too, means a lot

A good catchy beat, with a nice atmosphere and soft melody. Got a good hip-hop sound in my opinion. Only complaint is that synth that comes in at 0:35. It's rough mang. =\
Loving the piano though. Goes with that beat like nobody's business. :)

Werewolfrx responds:

Thank you very much for you're criticism, I understand exactly what you mean, I didn't know it was going to be that rough, thanks for pointing it out though!

Man. A very dancey track, quite good, the gate-like instrument in the later half usually a kind of sound I'm not particular fond of, because I feel it's overused, but it works great here. The beats were sick, and I love the bassy kick, commonly associated with hardstyle. The melody is great and I love the filtered intro synth. :)

Anchorwind responds:

I'm glad you enjoyed. There are frequent hardstyle influences spattered throughout various pieces. Thanks for taking the time to review.

Holy goodness. Only issue I have with the track is how the static seemed like the loudest part, then when the track seriously gets going you almost forget about it. I love the glitchy little thing added in around 1:24, behind the synth(If you use FL it sounds like their beepmaps). Sort of like a ravey mix of skynet, and the glimmering sight of the world's soon to come demise.

Anchorwind responds:

"and the glimmering sight of the world's soon to come demise." Welcome to Mother Machine, enjoy your stay :)

A nice pleasant happy song. I don't get polaroids or nostalgia from it, just a happy warm feeling, kind of like the "silent hill" song from DDR 7th mix. It's not too bad, but later on the piano sort of feels like there's more than there should be, if that makes sense. Like there's one- or a few too many notes, but that could just be me. Nice for what it is. :)

akiTONE responds:

Yeah, the higher portion of the refrain's piano part was rather hurriedly done. =/ If I can come up with a better riff for the refrain, I'd definitely like to change it. Maybe I'll subtract a few notes as per your suggestion.

There's a version of this track with vocals. The lyrics tie into the "polaroid" theme more than the instrumental does/can. It's available here on NG.

Other than the percussion being kinda loud at the end there, it's pretty interesting. Like the effect at the end.

I'll agree with forever bound. You've got awesome melodies, but the instruments don't bring it to full potential. I like the opening synth you use throughout though. The bassier synth. The higher one's not bad, but it just doesn't really fit the sort of slight bit of harshness that the first has to give a similar feel. Unless that's not intended in which case I say ignore that, and just try to make everything a tad bit louder. Sounds like it's quiet because of a slight filter or limiter or something.

swordsofe responds:

Try playing the track on a big system like I have, these little computer speakers don't give you the full experience. When mixing what ever I mix on tends dictate how loud the track will be but there is a limit on how loud you can really be. If I went just a bit louder in the mix everything would red line and clip, thats the last thing I want. Besides that it's made to be turned up. Look up "the loudness war" on youtube so you will have a better understanding of what I mean. Oh and the comment I answered first on here has the rebuttal to your comment about the instrumentation on the track. ("few" wipe sweat from head) Now that I got all that off my chest, Thank you so much for taking the time to listen there is more to come this year.

8-bit and chiptune music is awesome. If you could manage to have some better quality percussion, and add some guitar to this, it would sound very much like(and it already does somewhat) Anamanaguchi. I'd like to hear more of it. :)

DFerociousbeast responds:

yea, this is as close as 8-bit sounding percussion as i can get, I was thinking about adding guitar, but it's currently at my friend's house. Also, I saw "MEOW" by Anamanaguchi and it was pretty good, I can totally see some type of resemblance, but i just wanted to put something short so I'm probably not going to work on it anymore, so I'm sorry....but thank you for your response! It means a lot!

Wow. It's good to see something Artistic in nature, not solely for creativity, but expression of personal thought and even in a sense, philosophy if you will. Days like this, where I stumble upon something besides a dubstep or dance track entertain me, as it's great to see such unique material. I myself honestly fall in the former of the two types of music for the most part, but if I felt I just had the patience, the will, and time, I'd love to make something as remotely beautiful as what you've made. At first you think to yourself, "Wow, this is going to be long." But actually, by the end of it you feel as though it wasn't long enough. I haven't gotten much out of it this time, but I'll have to come back to this, or put it on my ipod, and just daydream to see what it makes me think of. I think of the most amazing things listening to such unique music.

bassfiddlejones responds:

I'd love to hear your thoughts while listening to this one! I'm quite happy that you enjoyed this, thank you for the kind words.

Beats, I make them.
Compliments, I take them.
Expectations? I hope to break them.
